TEH: 13 Haunted Beers -Otherworld Brewing : Serpentine, Scottish Fruited Sour ( 5.7% ABV)

The nights are drawing in, the air is turning crisp, and somewhere in the shadows… the beers are getting stranger.

Welcome, brave drinkers, to the Eternal Hoptimists’ Spook-o-ween Special — 13 haunted brews cursed with mystery, mischief, and maybe even a little magic. From ghostly pales to monstrous stouts, we’ll be shining a lantern into the cellar to see what goes burp in the night.

1. Name : Serpentine (5.7% ABV)

2. Brewery: Otherworld Brewing, Edinburgh ( Scotland)

3. Hops :  N/A

4. Grain : N/A

5. Aroma :  Strong scents of red and stoned fruits with a distinct sourness

6. Appearance : Opaque red in colour with a shocking white closed head when poured which was short lived

7. Body :  Medium bodied, smooth with a decent level of carbonation but no head retention.

8. Taste: Mouthwatering sour red fruits which pack a fair punch with a light hoppyness

This one was like a sour red currant jam with a good backing of bitterness at the end, for a sour this ticks my boxes; which as you know I’m not really a sour drinker but I’m finding more and more I like.. could this be a new chapter for me?..

This one is on par with some of the offerings ive had from Vault City, maybe the Scotts are just the kings of making sours?

Sam’s Jack ‘O Rating is: 3.5/ 5.0

The glass lies empty… yet something stirs. From the shadows of the cellar, a hiss escapes, and the promise of another cursed brew claws its way closer. Tomorrow, we open the next chapter in our tale of 13 Haunted Beers. Lock your doors, ready your glasses — the horror is only just beginning…
