TEH 13 Haunted Beers Spookoween -Tiny Rebel – 28 Years Later Pineapple IPA (4.3% ABV) #IPA #Pineapple

The nights are drawing in, the air is turning crisp, and somewhere in the shadows… the beers are getting stranger.

Welcome, brave drinkers, to the Eternal Hoptimists’ Spook-o-ween Special — 13 haunted brews cursed with mystery, mischief, and maybe even a little magic. From ghostly pales to monstrous stouts, we’ll be shining a lantern into the cellar to see what goes burp in the night.

This is the second beer brewed for the 28 Years Later movie tie in. In the first review we established that I’ve not seen any of the movies in the series and know little about zombies so I will stick to what I know.

Say pineapple drink and my generation will immediately think of Lilt and its ‘totally tropical taste’. However, time waits for no man, and I discover that Lilt was discontinued in 2023. Apparently if you want pineapple kicks from your soft drinks you must settle for Fanta Pineapple & Grapefruit. Better stick with beer then and this one from our friends in Wales.

  1. Name : 28 Years Later Pineapple IPA
  2. Brewery: Tiny Rebel, Newport Wales
  3. Hops : Not stated
  4. Grain : Malted barley and malted wheat
  5. Aroma : Tropical fruits, pineapple
  6. Appearance : Pale straw, very hazy with a white head
  7. Body : Full bodied medium carbonated some head retention
  8. Taste : Fruity, subtle pineapple followed by a touch of sweetness with a bittersweet finish
  9. Dietary restrictions : Allergens highlighted and is suitable for vegans

Of the two special tie in beers, I prefer this to the blood orange one.

The strength is not one of a true IPA, more of a so-called session one but pleasant enough all the same. It’s easy drinking rather than complex, with soft flavours and none of the harsh bitterness of some US IPAs. As a movie tie in beer it has to be aimed at a wider audience and in that sense, it finds the target.

Peter’s Jack ‘O Rating is: 3.6/ 5.0/ 5.0
