Skye Black – Isle of Skye Brewing Co

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

Today we are looking at a beer from a very north part of the UK!

  1. Name : Skye Black (ABV 4.5)
  2. Brewery: Isle of Skye Brewing Co
  3. Description : Malted barley creates the traditional taste of Scottish ale. The roasted variant is the darkest of them all, so we balanced its bitterness with the sweetness of rolled, roasted oats and pure Scottish heather honey. The taste of challenger hops is there too, but never overbearing, No other ale is brewed like this, or tastes like this.
  4. Aroma : Toast, Coffee, Chocolate, & herbs
  5. Appearance : Dark, tight white head medium head retention
  6. Body : Malty & Smooth
  7. Taste : Muted roasted barley, coffee and a hint of fruity berries, quite sweet in the mouth with a restrained blackberry note.

A friend of mine visited the brewery back in May/ June of this year and brought me back 12 bottles as a gift. I have to say if any of my friends are reading, more presents like this one please they were great! Only problem is there doesn’t seem to be a way to get hold of anymore without resorting to buying in bulk online, but i’m hoping to make a trip up there in the not so distant hopefully slightly more COVID free future.
