BrewYork – A New Beginning (11.0% ABV)

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

Back in April 2021, BrewYork celebrated its 5th Birthday as a brewery. In celebration of this, they made a grand total of 5 Imperial stouts. Each of these five beers has been assigned a chapter of the brewery’s 5-year history, and have been designed around the crew’s favourite post-modern slasher films!

So I thought, is there really a better series to cover on the lead up to Halloween? I don’t think so!

So to start off this week of Spookyness, we’re looking at the first of this series which is A New Beginning.

  1. Name : A New Beginning
  2. Brewery: BrewYork X Amunden Bryggeri
  3. Aroma : Strong scent of strong coffee followed by the sweetness of a fruit and nut bar.
  4. Appearance : Dark in colour, with a thin milk chocolate head
  5. Body : Medium bodied, well carbonated with a medium head retention.
  6. Taste : A lucious smooth boozy mouthful of tart blueberries, with a wave of bitter coffee followed by a long smooth creamy chocolatey finish.

Wow, this one was a tasty mouthful, to say the least, it had a tarty punch from the blueberries which took me by surprise before it lulled me with its smooth boozy coffee creaminess. However, given the incredibly high percentage you cant drink a lot of these, well you can but you probably wouldn’t survive the night.

Our overall rating: 4.6 / 5.0
