BrewYork – The Ghost Dimension (13.0% ABV)

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

Back in April 2021, BrewYork celebrated its 5th Birthday as a brewery. In celebration of this, they made a grand total of 5 Imperial stouts. Each of these five beers has been assigned a chapter of the brewery’s 5-year history, and has been designed around the crew’s favourite post-modern slasher films!

So I thought, is there really a better series to cover on the lead-up to Halloween? I don’t think so!

The Third installment is that of a Malevolent Mole stout.

  1. Name : The Ghost Dimension
  2. Brewery: BrewYork X Fierce
  3. Aroma : Strong spicy scent followed by a wave of deep malt.
  4. Appearance : Really dark with a mocha coloured head
  5. Body : Medium bodied well carbonated but poor head retention.
  6. Taste : Deep malted chocolate flavours chased by a warm spiced tingle that grows as you drink it, warming your throat and stomach.

Now this one wasn’t really my typical go-to beer drinking experience. I like a bit of spicy food every now and again but in a beer?

I must admit was hesitant at first but once I took the plunge, Yeah, It kind of works in beer too, although it’s not something I would want every day. But it was in no way unpleasant, and despite the heat and punch percentage, there were no explosive after-effects so id definitely try this one again.
