Bricknell Brewery – Cannon Street Porter (6.6% ABV)

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimist, Today we are continuing to sample the beers produced in our home city Hull, by the micro-brewer Bricknell Brewery. If you somehow missed our insightful interview with the head brewer you can check that out here.

Today we are checking out Bricknell’s Cannon Street Porter, this review was produced by John following his visit with Peter to the Bricknell Brewery.

  1. Name : Cannon Street Porter
  2. Brewery: Bricknell Brewery
  3. Aroma : Chocolate scent with a deep roasted malt.
  4. Appearance : Dark in colour, with a medium tight head.
  5. Body : Good carbonation with excellent head when poured which slowly diminishes nice volume good in the mouth
  6. Taste : Full of chocolate flavour with a tinge of sweetness, which is created by the coconut dark roasted malts

This has been one of our favourites from Bricknell Brewery thus far. This Victorian porter is infused with coconut. Personally, I like this, as it’s not a heavy porter, and yet it doesn’t hold back on flavor. Also with it only being 6.6% it means you can have more than one of them and that’s certainly not something to sniff at!

our overall rating: 4.1/ 5.0
