Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimist, Today we are continuing to sample the beers produced in our home city Hull, by the microbrewer Bricknell Brewery. If you somehow missed our insightful interview with the head brewer you can check that out here.
Today we are checking out Bricknell’s Avenues Pale Ale, this review was produced by John following his visit with Peter to the Bricknell Brewery.

- Name : Avenues Pale Ale
- Brewery: Bricknell Brewery
- Aroma : Strong scent of hops, and freshly cut grass
- Appearance : Pale amber colour with a slight haze and a medium tight white head.
- Body : Medium bodied, and carbonated with an ok head retention.
- Taste : A fresh, citrus fruity start which is quickly followed by with a hit of dry hoppiness.
This was a beer with a slight twist, but this time the twist is outside of the bottle. As the brewer actually grows his own hops for this one in his own back garden, and I will be honest you can really taste the freshness!
This one felt more like a summer tipple to me, I liked the refined hoppy nature of this one, and is slightly lighter on the stomach than the Lodona 1862
our overall rating: 3.5/ 5.0
