Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimist, Today we are continuing to sample the beers produced in our home city Hull, by the microbrewer Bricknell Brewery. If you somehow missed our insightful interview with the head brewer you can check that out here.
Today we are checking out Bricknell’s Chocolate Porter, this review was produced by John following his visit with Peter to the Bricknell Brewery.

- Name : Chocolate Porter
- Brewery: Bricknell Brewery
- Aroma : Strong chocolate maltly biscuit aroma
- Appearance : Dark in colour with a full coffeee coloured head
- Body : Medium to full bodied, well carbonated, fantastic mouthfeel
- Taste : Malt taste followed by a wave of bitter cacao with a hint of strong coffeee coming through at the end that added to the dry finish
Oh yes, please! I wish I had some more of this lovely winter warmer. Much deeper and punchier than the Larkins Beer I tried previously. Also, the coffee supports the flavour well, and assists by giving it that edge some other porters lack.
our overall rating: 4.1/ 5.0
