We are continuing through on our 12 days of Christmas selection from Turning point Brew Co, this time we are staring down the barrel of this bourbon barreled aged Ipmy stout with vanilla and cacao.
Name: The Ecstacy of gold, bourbon barreled aged Ipmy stout with vanilla and cacao
Brewery: Turning Point Brew Co
Aroma: strong velvety notes of Chocolate, followed by a punchy bourbon spirit kick and a hint of oats.
Appearance: Very Dark, with a dark caramel film head
Body: Medium, well carbonated, good head retention, powerful, but not heavy in the mouth.
Taste: This was our idea of Heaven, chocolate, coffee with a smooth kick of bourbon that warms your cockles. Everything a growing boy needs!
Ooof… give me a minute… This one was an absolute belter. The best one of the 12 beers of Christmas thus far. It had everything I love in a dark beer, rich chocolate, bitter chocolate, and enough kick to make a donkey think twice. Although I could only have one of these, what a one to have!
