Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists, today we are continuing our whirlwind look at what Tartatus Beer’s have to offer. If you missed out on our awesome interview with the folks at Tartarus, fear not you can check that out here. But, for now, we’re here for the beer!
The more observant among you might realize that this one is not like the others. This is a full bodied, legendary Collab between Amity Brew Co & Tartarus Beers, and I thought it would be a crime to miss this one out as I’m looking at Tartarus’ other tipples.

- Name: Nix, Chocolate & Vanilla Imperial Stout
- Brewery: Amity Brew Co X Tartarus Beers
- Aroma : Strong notes of chocolate, with undertones of vanilla, with a sweetness emphasized by the lactose
- Appearance : Black as night, milk chocolate coloured medium head
- Body : Heavy bodied, very thick but incredibly smooth mouth fell, well carbonated but poor head retention.
- Taste : Strong vanilla pudding taste, with a smattering of bitter chocolate which then morphs into a long draw of lactose sweetness to finish.
Ooof, with a capital OOOF. This one was spectacular. Black as night, and as deep as hade’s what ride! It was full of flavour, not too punchy, the kind of pint you definitely would want another of but after a while you would discover your legs don’t work! so definitely one to be weary of much like Tartarus’ Qilin, I’m just sad I didn’t get more at the time!
If you would like to try any of Tartarus’ tipples yourself, you can pick one up at their website here
