Boss Brewing Co – Amber Gambler, Amber Ale (5.2% ABV)

Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimist’s, today we are taking a look at Boss Brewing’s Amber Ale, the Amber Gambler, which come in an interesting comic book/anime-esc yakuza like can.

1. Name: Ambler Gambler, Amber Ale
2. Brewery: Boss Brewing Co
3. Aroma :  Floral hop, with a touch of burnt caramel
4. Appearance : Clear Amber color with a thick off-white head
5. Body :  Thin to Medium Bodied, medium carbonation, with poor head retention.
6. Taste :  Initial taste of bitter burnt caramel that muddies and fades into a slight hop.

I wanted to like this one, but something about it was just a little bit off. The burnt caramel gave it an interesting edge, but then it became a bit muddy, and in the end I felt a little let down by it.
