The Medvedgrad Brewery – Golden Bear Pilsner (4.4% ABV)

Hello, and welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists, today we are taking the first sip of our BEER52 Experiment, first out of the Box is a Pilsner.

This Pilsner is brewed by the oldest and biggest craft brewery in Croatia.

Where does the name Golden Bear come from you may wonder? Well, it’s not a tribute to Jack Nicklaus or the award at the Berlin Film Festival. The label is a drawing of a nice bear in an enchanted forest. Hopefully this will be a delight and not produce nightmares like a certain East German programme which was shown during school holidays in the 1970s and left a whole generation of children disturbed aka The Singing Ringing Tree.
