Drygate – Tone Burst (3.2% ABV)

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists, Today our resident Weisse guy Sam will be looking at another one of Drygates tipple, we suspect though that this one may be on the sour side.

  1. Name: Tone Burst
  2. Brewery: DryGate
  3. Aroma : Subtle Citrus notes with a powerful punch of sour rhubarb
  4. Appearance : cloudy pale with a tight white head
  5. Body : Light, well carbonated, and has good head retention.
  6. Taste : Very tart rhubarb punch, followed by a twist of lemon citrus

This one makes your mouth pucker and water, nice and refreshing and the crisp citrus finish gives it a real bite.

It is a bit weaker then the traditional Weisse, as they are usually around 5%. but it certainly doesn’t lack the flavour. You can tell why the Berliner Weisse was once the most popular alcoholic drink in Berlin. I would definitely have this one again.

Our overall rating: 4.0/ 5.0
