As you all know, Brewing collaborations are proving popular, they allow for a cross fertilisation of ideas to take place. This beer goes a step further in also supporting charities that help those facing society’s biggest hurdles with a contribution of 5% of the proceeds. The label proclaims, “Step Up is a delicious beer that is gonna help change who the beer industry represents, and what it needs to be.”
- Name : Step Up Stout
- Brewery: Cloudwater Brew Co in collaboration with Rock Leopard
- Aroma : Rich roasty malts and treacle toffee
- Appearance : Black with a reddish-brown head
- Body : Medium bodied, smooth on the palate. Medium carbonated but with poor head retention
- Taste : Immediate hit is one of treacle toffee but then a bitter, dark chocolate flavour lingering into a long aftertaste. Very little smokiness for a stout
As this beer supports charity its one that can be drunk with a guilt free conscience! A cracking stout that proves that a high alcohol content isn’t necessary for a strongly flavoured beer. One to keep an eye out for.
