Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Welcome back to the eternal Hoptimists, and a very happy Easter to you. Those of you that have been following us for awhile will know that we tend to cover some interesting limited edition beers at Easter, Halloween and Christmas. This Easter is no egg-ception, but with time not being as abundant at the moment we decided to keep it to just the one this year!
As we were only trying the one we thought we would dip our toes into an area of beer we have not covered on the blog as of yet, and that of course is non alcoholic beer, because even the designated driver needs something a bit better than coke and orange juice every once in a while!

- Name: Neskveik
- Brewery: Mash Gang (aka Adam and Tom at Northern Monk Old Flax Store)
- Aroma : Sweet draw of vanilla milkshake, with a wash of syrupy strawberry squash.
- Appearance : Opaque, strawberry pink, with a open white head
- Body : Medium bodied, well carbonated with poor head retention.
- Taste : Strawberry milkshake, followed by a cool was of sweet vanilla to finish.
Peter, often says “Just because they can, doesn’t mean that they should” and before I tried this, I thought this would be a prime candidate for this statement.
However, its actually pretty cooling and refreshing, and it really delivers an authentic Nesquick flavour. Now if you hate Nesquick, you definitely wont like it, but if you do and your a designated driver this Bank Holiday weekend, or you are at a BBQ or a house party, this isn’t a bad option. I’ve had a few non alcoholic beers, and this is nowhere near as bad as some of them!
But be warned it is very sickly sweet and a grower, so for you non sweet toothed individuals nursing it is advised, as if you chug, it gets even sweeter!
Our overall rating: 3.1/ 5.0
