Frisky Bear – Black Forest Gateau Imperial Stout (8.0% ABV)

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

Another of the Brewer’s desert in a beer can offering. No 1970s or 1980s dining out experience was complete without a generous slice of Black Forest Gateau and a little pouring cream but does it work as a beer?

Did you ever wonder what it would be like to have your cake and drink it? now you can with this @friskybearbrew #beerreview #beerlovers #beeroclock
  1. Name : Black Forest Gateau Imperial Stout
  2. Brewery: Frisky Bear Brewing Co
  3. Aroma : Cherry and a hint of damson
  4. Appearance : Jet black with a brownish head
  5. Body :  Medium bodied, lightly carbonated, producing a reasonable head retention
  6. Taste : Like eating a boozy Black Forest trifle. Plenty
of dark chocolate bitterness, black cherry with a
touch of sourness but mainly dry

I’m a little biased, I love stout and a punchy Imperial one all
the better. This was heavy on the dark chocolate bitter
notes but balanced with a deep dark cherry flavour. Quite
moreish but at 8% please take it steady.

Our overall rating: 3.9/ 5.0
