Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Today we are taking a closer look at another another beer from our Beer52 experiment.
This is from the craft brewing department of the Black Sheep empire. The name come from the line of latitude that passes through Masham.
It is described as a Helles style lager which is top fermented in Yorkshire Squares and lagered in small batches for at least a month

- Name : 54° North
- Brewery: Black Sheep Brewery plc, Masham, North Yorkshire
- Hops : Tettnang, Magnum and Polaris
- Grain : German pilsner malt
- Aroma : Hoppy but with a touch of bread/dough
- Appearance : Golden with the merest hint of haze and a white head
- Body : Full bodied for a lager, medium carbonation and a little bit of head retention
- Taste : Clean with a slightly sharp edge, subtle hops and a sweet malty finish
This beer impressed me, despite the short date there were no signs of staleness. Being slightly sweet and not over carbonated this is the style of lager I can get used to drinking. Too good for a barbeque, this is a beer for a peaceful sunny afternoon and a good book.
Our overall rating: 3.7/ 5.0
