Love Lane – Baltic Berliner Raspberry Blueberry Blackcurrant (4.0% ABV)

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

This is another beer that was purchased from Lidl. This one is from the Liverpool brewery Love Lane which is located in the Baltic Triangle district of the City, hence the first part of the name.

The beer style Berliner Weisse beer, so a cloudy and sour German wheat beer, though at 4% it is towards the light end of the ABV scale.

1. Name : Baltic Berliner
2. Brewery: Love Lane Brewery, Liverpool, Merseyside
3. Hops : Brambling cross
4. Grain : Pale malt and wheat malt
5. Aroma : Sour plus berry fruits
6. Appearance : Dark pink almost maroon coloured and cloudy with a pink tinged head 
7. Body :  Medium body, low carbonation and head rapidly disappeared
8. Taste : Initially a sour hit which makes way for raspberries and a tart finish

I’m not a big lover of sour beers but this one was a pleasant surprise. This was probably because it wasn’t mouth puckeringly sour and some of the berry flavour comes though. One to try again in summer.
