Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Welcome back to the eternal Hoptimists.
Today is the first of a few that we have perused and acquired from the folks at Thirst Class Ale. As I am sure you are all aware by now, I have a real love for dark beers so when I saw that there was one called any porter in a storm, my curiosity was certainly peaked!

- Name: Any Porter in a Storm
- Brewery: First Class Ale
- Aroma : Strong cacao powder and coffee aroma with a tiny bit of bramble.
- Appearance : very photogenetic dark ale, almost pitch in appearance, with a medium to tight ever so slightly mocha head
- Body : Medium bodied, well carbonated, with great head retention.
- Taste : Deep coffee and cacao flavour with an ever so slight sour tang from the red fruit to finish.
Just bare with me a minute while I open their website and purchase some more… Ok, well this one is very nice indeed! it hits all the right notes in the right order for me, I really wish I could try this one on draft as it think it would knock my socks off.
The coffee is strong but has just the right amount of cacao and sourness to offset this into a really nice well rounded beer, definitely more of a winter warmer which in June.. eh its still good!
Our overall rating: 4.2/ 5.0
