Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Today we are taking a closer look at another another beer from our Beer52 experiment.
The can poses a question. “What do you get when you combine Dave Dobbyn and a popular Australian ice cream? A mildly witty name for a beer… A beer that’s all about pineapple, creamy vanilla, and lime – and that’s the bottom lime – that makes us feel like there’s a warm moon dog shining over our collective horizon. It’s most certainly a splice of heaven.” No, I’ve no idea either, I thought Aussie beer was the dreadful stuff that their cricketers necked in quantity, usually four dozen ‘tinnies’ on the flight over to England before sobering up and whooping us in the Ashes.

- Name : Splice of Heaven
- Brewery: Moon Dog Brewing Pty Ltd, Preston, Victoria, Australia
- Hops : Tomahawk, Kohatu and Citra
- Grain : Pale and crystal malt, wheat and oats
- Aroma : Pineapple and vanilla
- Appearance : Golden, slightly hazy with a frothy white head
- Body : Full bodied, medium carbonation but with poor head retention
- Taste : Vanilla with merest hints of lime. Hops overpowered by the vanilla ‘ice cream’ flavour. Tart finish
Strewth. Presumably it’s the vanilla gives the ‘ice cream’ flavour but it’s way too much for my palate.
