Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Today we are taking a closer look at another another beer from our Beer52 experiment.
Yet another craft beer from Croatia included in the Beer 52 short-dated box. This one is an IPA, but with a different twist coming from the yeast. Kveik is a Norwegian word for yeast and is used to describe farmhouse yeast from Norway or the Baltic region. In this case the yest is named – Ebbegarten/Hornidal.

- Name : Kveik IPA
- Brewery: The Garden Brewery, Zagreb, Croatia
- Hops : Cascade, Citra, Amarillo and HBC 586
- Grain : Lager and Munich malts, torrefied wheat and oats
- Aroma : Citrusy but with some tropical notes of pineapple and mango
- Appearance : Golden with a greenish tinge. Cloudy but with a white head
- Body : Full bodied, well carbonated and with some head retention
- Taste : Fruity with mango prominent and hints on pineapple. Slightly tart finish
Heavy on the hops but producing a beer that is fruity rather than bitter. Perfectly decent, but I would imagine this beer being even better when fresher.
Our overall rating: 3.7/ 5.0
