Hi there fellow beer lovers,
This beer regularly is one of the big hitters in the Lidl ‘Beer Festival’ weeks. According to the can it’s an ‘amped-up’ version of their Luminous Lights with extra hops and malt. A bold claim but will it register 11 on Nigel Tufnel’s amp?

- Name : Luminous Nights
- Brewery: 71 Brewing Co, Dundee, Scotland
- Hops : Not specified
- Grain : Barley, wheat and oats
- Aroma : Tropical fruits mainly pineapple
- Appearance : Golden, cloudy and produced a frothy white head
- Body : Full bodied, medium carbonation with some head retention
- Taste : Fruity, tropical pineapple but not oversweet. Not particularly dry or bitter but flavour of the hops was lost
I have tried this beer several times and found it variable. Sometimes brilliant, sometimes just good, but this can was disappointing. Perhaps it was a poor batch, or I left it too close to the expiry date to sample, who knows? It seems only right to purchase another the next time it is available and drink it fresh to investigate further. We go the extra mile for our readers.
