The style ‘du jour’ seems to be the sour. Once something of a niche beer in the UK now seems to be everywhere. This example was included within a recent Lidl ‘Beer Festival’ week so is clearly targeted at a wider range of drinkers.

- Name : In the PInk
- Brewery: Loch Lomond Brewery, Dumbarton, Scotland
- Hops : Not specified
- Grain : Malted barley and wheat
- Aroma : Raspberry and a faint note of apple or cider
- Appearance : Golden with a pink tinge, hazy but with no real head
- Body : Medium bodied, well carbonated but head retention was poor
- Taste : Raspberry with a slightly tart finish. Pleasantly refreshing
A sour for drinkers who are not regular sour drinkers. It’s mildly tart rather than mouth puckeringly sour so it’s not going to shock the uninitiated. A refreshing beer aimed to have broader market appeal.
