Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Welcome back to the eternal Hoptimists.
Today John is having a look at another of the patron series from one of his favourite breweries, this time its a Sour IPA. Lets see what the sour king makes of this one!

- Name: Lucy Ketchin/Everything All at once
- Brewery: Northern Monk, Patrons
- Aroma : Strong red berry notes followed by a malty hoppy twang
- Appearance : Clear, Raspberry red, with a thin tight slightly off white head.
- Body : Medium bodied, well carbonated with poor head retention.
- Taste : Raspberry and Cherry fruit punch, with a sour kick that makes tour mouth water.
Right.. where to start with this one. Well to start off it’s not what I would call a beer. I mean it has all the components of a beer, it has Jumbo Oats, Wheat, Malt, and Mosaic hops but at the end of the day this tastes more akin to a fruity cocktail punch then a beer… but do I like it? Oh yeah, without a doubt!
I am a fan of sours, and I am a fan of this, it would be fantastic at a BBQ or on a hot summers day, its reasonably strong at 6.5% so be a little cautious, but I will be keeping my eyes open for more of the same moving forward!

Now as we have with our previous covers of the patron beers, we would like to point out that this one was made in conjunction with Lucy Ketchin who is and illustrator from Leeds.
She works with paper and fabric to create forms and shapes, exploring nature, folklore and human idiosyncrasies. Using a range of bold colours and hand cut paper shapes, Lucy creates her illustrations as much by hand as possible. She also works with fabrics, using traditional hand sewing techniques to create colourful display pieces.
