Eyam Brewery – Antidote, Continental Lager (4.4% ABV)

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists.

Eyam AKA the Plague Village, have a brewery that doesn’t like to take itself too seriously. It has a number of tipples across a number of styles all of which have embraced the villages heritage as they definitely follow the same naming theme!

All of the beverages in bottle are bottled conditioned, but they do supply casks to a number of local pubs in the surrounding area.

  1. Name: Antidote
  2. Brewery: Eyam Brewery
  3. Aroma :  Sweet hop and a strong hit of wheat.
  4. Appearance : Opaque golden honey with a white head.
  5. Body :  Medium bodied, good carbonation with great head retention.
  6. Taste :  Refreshing & Crisp hoppy lager with a strong wheat undertone.

Very refreshing after a 15-mile hike through the English countryside, I am sure it would be great on other occasions too, definitely one for a session at 4.4% very drinkable, and the strong wheat undertone gives it a little uniqueness.

Our Jack ‘O Rating for this one is: 3.2/ 5.0
