Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists.
We’re back again looking in all the abandoned spooky houses on the hill to find you the spookiest of beers!
When we were sent this one, we told a few of our friends that we had acquired this £8.45 tipple, which is pretty terrifying in itself!
To which we were greeted the drying of teeth in stereo and the distant rumblings of a certain ex-account shouting “how much!” After a brief pause our friend piped up with
“I can’t think of a beer that would be £8.45 nice, It would have to be better than 3 Fosters and 2 Smirnoff ices, good luck!”
The thought then dawned on us that this might be a dud, as all those flavours and Sam’s pallet are not your typical match. However, once he opened the tin, and the sweet scent of sour fruits filled the air he didn’t even get a look in, as his wife swooped in and took one for the team.
So please welcome our first female beer reviewer Michaela!

- Name: Braaaaaaaains
- Brewery: Drekker Brewing Co
- Hops: Magnum, Hallertau Blanc
- Aroma : Strong scent of sour fruits, maily Passionfruit and Mango
- Appearance : Blended Toffee Apple with a v thin Foam head when first poured.
- Body : Thick, almost al dente, low carbonation with terrible head retention.
- Taste : A very smooth sour fruity mouthful, very reminiscent to a Mango & Passionfruit J20 (my favourite) but with a twist and a pucker.
Sam will be the first to tell you that I am not a big lover of traditional beers, in fact I wont drink them at all! This however is not a traditional styled beer. it was refreshing and has a real very sweet and sour vibe to it.
I would say more please, but we all know Sam can’t afford it!
Our Jack ‘O Rating for this one is: 4.0/ 5.0
