  2. Brewery: Northern Monk
  3. Aroma:  Faint tar aroma with a hint of vanilla & Lactose
  4. Appearance: Very dark, good clarity, with a mushroom coloured head when poured
  5. Body:  Medium bodied, good carbonation, decent head retention with a smooth mouth feel.
  6. Taste: A bucket loads of Lactose rich oatmeal with a hint of spice, very warming, and very pleasant indeed.

This is one a series in the culinary adventures which is based in the north of England, through Sarah Harris. Sarah Harris is a landscape screen printer from Shipley. You can check out her modern and nostalgic prints here.

This one was bloody lovely, plain and simple. a Smooth Porter, it is really mellow and it has a bit of something for everyone.
