It would be fair to say that Turning Point Brew Co. are pretty much on the money when it comes to their branding, from their appealing can art to their often humorous yet quirky and clever beer names.
In this review we look at their latest Cryo hopped American IPA named Thank You Space Expert (no, I don’t know why either!) which comes in at 6.8% abv and comes with the promise of a rather pleasant looking hop combination. This beer is unfiltered, unfined and vegan friendly to add yet another tick in the box, so all is looking good so far!

3. Hops : Mosaic, Simco Cryo & Amarillo BBC
4. Grain : Barley & Wheat
5. Aroma : Has an incredibly juicy and inviting aroma with notes of tropical fruits
6. Appearance : Hazy, straw coloured beer with a one finger fluffy white head
7. Body : Lovely creamy mouthfeel with a nice full body
8. Taste : Very appealing tropical fruit taste with the hop varieties proving a nice mix that works well. Lasting bitter finish on the palate that adds to the experience without detracting from the array of flavours.
Yes, I am going to say thank you Turning Point as this is a rather pleasant beer indeed. At 6.8% abv it is certainly not a sessionable beer but for a one off can it certainly proves to be very welcome to the tastebuds.
The first thing that hit me was the very inviting aroma which carried over well to the taste. The cryo hops certainly add to the party which already had some fantastic guests namely the smooth, creamy mouthfeel and tropical fruit flavours with the aforementioned lingering bitterness.
Admittedly it may not be the most complex of IPA’s but that should not detract from the fact that this is a very enjoyable and incredibly drinkable beer that is well worth checking out and one that I will be more than happy to drink again……Good job Turning Point!
