Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimist’s,
We’re back with the T|E|H Advent calendar for 2022 and continuing our look at Turning points 12 beers of Christmas. As we have quite a lot to get through this month, we have recruited another of John’s friends Arran. Arran is a teacher so is pretty good at issuing detailed school reports on naughty kids, but how does he fair writing one for beer?

- Name: Special Frequency
- Brewery: Turning Point Brew Co
- Hops: Mosaic & Simcoe
- Aroma: Quite an upfront kick of citrus and sweet hop backing
- Appearance: Slightly hazed golden ale with a thin wite frothy head when poured.
- Body: Medium bodied well carbonated with quite a long lasting head.
- Taste: A surprisingly malty mouthful that is cut through by a citrus finish.
At 6.5% this is a cracking session ale, easy drinking, and suitable for a variety of palates. Not a brand I am familiar with, but it could see it being popular and mainstream enough to be on the shelves at Tesco’s, if I see this again it’s definitely one, I will go straight for!
Our overall rating: 4.4 / 5.0
