Hi there fellow beer lovers,
This pale ale is one of the Twelve Beers of Christmas from last year. But I felt it would be a crime to not revisit this one again! This one is an oatmeal pale brewed with the addition of honey and marigold flowers.
Name: Chaos Theory Honey and Marigold Oatmeal Pale
Brewery: Turning Point Brew Co
Hops: Saaz (Leaf)
Aroma: Sweet and flowery but not overpowering
Appearance: Cloudy with a nice white head
Body: Full-bodied with good carbonation and retained its head well
Taste: Honey comes through strongly with a mild note of herbs/flowers, and despite the honey coming through it’s not excessively sweet.
A very enjoyable beer with nice honey flavours without becoming sweet and heavy like a mead. The marigold adds to the mix without taking over like heather ale for example and the oatmeal the head retention is good. Lovely as a one-off but for me, not one to be drinking all evening.
