Gwei-lo X Brew York – Lo Rider, AF Pale Ale (0.0% ABV)

Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists.

Today marks the end of our AF two week romp through a number of AF beer styles and breweries. There are still so many more out their I feel like we have barely scratched the surface of what in my opinion one of the fastest growing markets within the beer industry.

To finish off our two week Dry January run we are looking at another Collab, one of two breweries I know we are quite a fan of here at T|E|H Gwei-lo & Brew York. But, can these two ‘Beerhemoths’ create a good AF tipple?

  1. Name: Lo Rider
  2. Brewery: Gwei-lo X Brew York
  3. Hops : Cascade
  4. Aroma : Strong tropical and lime aroma
  5. Appearance :  Very light Gold, almost clear, with a tight white head when poured.
  6. Body : Light bodied, very carbonated, poor head retention.
  7. Taste :  A very refreshing juicy pale but with the extra carbonation and lemon/lime backing it is very similar to a bitter shandy.

As far as AF beers go, this is a very good one to go out on, its Crisp, and refreshing it has some strong tropical like notes throughout and doesn’t linger on the pallet, it reminds me a lot of a bitter shandy with the sweetness dialled back a bit.

Not bad at all, if I were driving this would be a cracking alternative, especially in the summer!
