This is a collaboration between the ever-dependable Thornbridge and Rivington Brewing Co a craft brewery based in Lancashire which is well regarded.
As I’ve written previously, I do enjoy a good brown ale a style somewhat neglected with the market essentially dominated by the mass produced Newcastle Brown Ale. So, when Mark produced this beer, one from a recent monthly subscription box, at a recent tasting session my little eyes lit up. Just as well because I had a bit of a black eye thanks to a headbutt from Freddie my dog!

- Name : Boise Brown
- Brewery: Thornbridge, Bakewell, Derbyshire
- Hops : Galaxy, Talus and Citra
- Grain : Malted barley and wheat
- Aroma : Hops with a malty sweetness and little pine or resin underneath
- Appearance : Pale chestnut to mahogany in colour, clear, brief cream coloured head
- Body : Medium bodied, medium carbonation but with poor head retention
- Taste : A sweet and malty start with a slight nuttiness and a dry hoppy finish. A long lingering flavour
Everything you would come to expect in a superior brown ale. Rich, malty and sweet but also with a hoppy kick to balance out the finish. An excellent American Brown.
