Welcome back to the eternal Hoptimists.
Now this one is a rarity, this one was gifted to me by my friend Toni, she picked it up from one of her many daytrips out around the UK. We have not had a lot of experience with breweries in Wales aside from Tiny Rebel, so it will be good to have a look at what other craft beers they have available over there!
I have to admit I am a growing fan of Red IPA’s so this was a doubly special treat for me.

- Name: Navigator
- Brewery: Purple Moose Brewery , Wales
- Hops : Columbus
- Aroma : Very heavy pine scent with a underlying sweetness
- Appearance : Slightly hazed, Reddish Amber, with a tight white head when poured.
- Body : Medium bodied, really good level of carbonation and good head retention.
- Taste: Strong tingle of the fresh pine followed by a wash of caramel sweetness.
This was a very tasty drop indeed, I found the contrast of the pine and the caramel quite intriguing. As usual the curse always seems to be when I find something I like I only have one of them! Maybe if I ask Toni nicely she will pick me up another on her next excursion to wales!
all in all, a great well balanced red rye, never had one from Purple moose before, but I will be keeping my eye out for them in the future!
