We’ve raided out own beer vaults and found this fella hiding at the back, its time for Sam to open his first Sour of 2023!
- Name: Papa Doble
- Brewery: Vault City
- Hops : N/A
- Aroma : Heavy scent of Sour fruits and Haribo Tangfastics
- Appearance : Cloudy, amber ale with a tight white head when poured.
- Body : medium bodied, well carbonated, no head retention.
- Taste: A sour hit that makes your mouth pucker, which lessens into a waterfall of fruit flavours finishing on a sweet cherry and lime.
Now, I am not a sour connoisseur like John, but this one scratched an itch I didn’t even know I had. It was very moreish, I would say dangerously so as at 7.5% you would want to have too many of these, otherwise you may find yourself on your backside. here was no alcohol harshness at all, just a good fruity sour mouthful.
When I’m up in Scotland at the end of March, I will be looking for some more of this!
