Hello, and welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists,
We have sampled several flavoured porters from Bricknell Brewery, but this is one without any additions, a true Victorian style porter.
Once again, the name given to the beer has a Hull connection, this time one of the more well known ones. William Wilberforce was MP for the city (1780-84) and played an important role in the abolition of slavery. His house in the city is preserved and is a museum.

A true traditional style porter that lets the malt do the talking. There is a nice depth and complexity from the malt which requires no additives to make an impressive beer. Not as strong as some of their other porters but that again is more in keeping with a traditional recipe. One I will definitely drink again.
