We are back with our final Valentines special for 2023. Is there a better beer to finish on than this one? Devoted, much like we all are to our beer mistress as well as our partners!
This is a 4th Anniversary Collab, but like most things has this match up got better with age? lets find out!
- Name: Devoted
- Brewery: Northern Monk X Funky Fluid
- Hops: Mosaic, Sabro, Idaho 7
- Grain: Barley, Wheat, Oat
- Aroma : Very fruity borderline Juicy upfront with morphs to a big hit of hop followed by a slightly floral scent.
- Appearance : Very cloudy, weak orange with a tight white head when pored.
- Body : Medium bodied, well carbonated with great head retention.
- Taste: A quick wash of citrus followed by a hop explosion, which makes your mouth water and tongue tingle as it morphs to a bitter finish.
This one felt like I was in one of those Listerine ad’s where the explosion happens in her mouth, talk about some powerful flavours… But wow was it good!
It had a cracking bitter tan, and was very deep complex and morish. You lose the citrus the more you drink it, but its still stonking!
I was supposed to give John the spare, but I think I might just have to keep it!.. we will see
