Hello, and welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists,
Yes it’s another session IPA, they’re ubiquitous and ever popular. Whilst the trend is for ever stronger and complex beers there will always be a ready market for easy drinking sub 5% ales, I just wish they would drop the ‘India’ from the name.
Well here goes. First impression is favourable with some very striking artwork on the can of Neptune grappling with a giant octopus. Getting real vibes of the Greek mythology movies with very dodgy special effects from the 1960s starring Doug McClure…

- Name : King Neptune
- Brewery: Bosun’s Brewing Co, Wetherby, West Yorkshire
- Hops : Not specified
- Grain : Malted barley and wheat
- Aroma : Light, citrusy grapefruit
- Appearance : Light golden, clear with a white head
- Body : Medium bodied, well carbonated with excellent head retention
- Taste : Light and fruity, with hints of grapefruit with a slightly bitter finish
A pleasant and straightforward IPA. The lowish strength and light flavour make it a very sessionable beer.
