Alphabet Brewing – Hyperlocal Delicacy Australian Crunch, Chocolate, Coconut & Tonka Imperial Stout (11.0% ABV)

Welcome Back to the Eternal Hoptimists,

Today we are checking out our first beer from Alphabet Brewing. This is a hefty 11% Chocolate, Coconut & Tonka Imperial Stout, i would be lying if I said I didn’t have high hopes for this one.

1. Name : Hyperlocal Delicacy Australian Crunch.

2. Brewery: Alphabet Brewing (Manchester)

3. Hops :  Centennial

4. Grain :  Barley, Oats

5. Aroma :  Strong Chocolate notes with an almost Turkish delight undertone

6. Appearance : Really dark, with a tight milk chocolate coloured head

7. Body :  Medium to full bodied, good carbonation with poor head retention.

8. Taste :  Layered dark chocolate and sweet coconut with an under cut of Tonka bean, morphing to a alcoholic mouthful akin to that of a chocolate liquor.

Allergens: Contains Gluten

This was a very warming drop indeed, it really sticks to your ribs, and it has a alcohol kick that makes you feel like you can breathe fire afterwards. Absolutely outstanding, definitively a sipper though not one to drink quickly as there would be consequences.

Our overall rating: 4.3/ 5.0
