Welcome Back to the Eternal Hoptimist.
Today Sam is checking out Ruby Ruby (..Ruby Ahhhhhahhhhah!). This Mild collaboration from New Bristol & Stockholm Brewing Co promises to deliver some warming sherry and raisin flavours.
Therefore its an ideal candidate for our ‘Into the Mild‘ Week Long segment
Lets dive right in and see what he thought!

1. Name : Ruby Ruby
2. Brewery: New Bristol X Stockholm Brewing Co
3. Hop: Bullion
4. Grain : Barley, Oats & Wheat
5. Aroma : Red Currants and sweet raisins, with a hit of bread and treacle.
6. Appearance : Clear, Dark Chestnut ale with an off white head when poured.
7. Body : Medium to full bodied, well carbonated but poor head retention.
8. Taste : Warming was h of sherry like notes with a dash of red currants and a dab of treacle for a sweet finish.
This is a true full bodied, dark mild, full of flavour, and packs quite the punch at 6.5%. If anyone drinks this one and says its for a 50yr old flatcap wearing CAMRA member, they would be right, because I feel this would appeal to anyone.
The sherry notes ad a real depth to it that I have not experienced in the more traditional styled Milds.
Our overall rating: 3.7/ 5.0
