Today Sam is going for the triple! Thats right he is checking out Boxcar’s Triple Darrrrk Mild (with all the R’s)
Lets dive right in and see what we thought!
1. Name : Triple Dark Mild
2. Brewery: Boxcar
3. Hop: N/A
4. Grain : Barley & Oats
5. Aroma : Heavy hitting malt scent with a hint of additional sweetness.
6. Appearance : Very dark red, with an off white head when initially poured.
7. Body : Full bodied, well carbonated but poor head retention.
8. Taste : Deep roasted malt flavour, with a sweet treacle like kick that morphs to a stoned fruit like mash.

This was pretty good, very punchy at 9% I certainly knew I had drank it. it was dark, well rounded and had quite a lot of flavour without the harsh alcohol taste that’s rife with the 9%+ tipples.
I would definitely have this again, but like this time might need a nap afterwards (it was v warm, and work was long! haha)
