Welcome Back to the Eternal Hoptimists.
Today Sam is out in the wild ad trying a very traditional mild from Samuel Smiths.
note from Sam : ” Sorry I was on a night out in Manchester before heading to a gig when I did this one, and I forgot to take a photo! the photo below is off Samuel Smiths official Website, I will try to be more diligent in future!”
Lets dive right in and see what he thought!

1. Name : Light Mild
2. Brewery: Samuel Smiths
3. Hop: N/A
4. Grain : N/A
5. Aroma : Strong scents of hop & malts
6. Appearance : Clear copper coloured ale with a very thin tight white head when poured
7. Body : Thin to medium bodied, with good carbonation and ok head retention.
8. Taste : It was a little watery but undeniably a traditional malted mid taste.
a bog standard low abv mild, no frills, a little waters, but not bad for a keg mild!
