Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists.
John is taking another look at what one of Hulls lesser known breweries Belschnickel has to offer in the way of a table Saison!

- Name: Erntehelfer
- Brewery: Belschnickel Brewery
- Hops : Saaz & Nelson Sauvin
- Grain: Barley, Rye, Spelt and Wheat
- Aroma: A refreshing aroma of Hops & Wheat
- Appearance: Slightly hazed golden ale with a nice frothy head when poured.
- Body: Medium bodied, well carbonated with decent head retention.
- Taste: This one is pretty complex, it has strong initial taste of bitter hops, before a snap of wheat & rye adding a bit of sweetness which dries the mouth ready for the next mouthful.
Erntehelfer, means harvest hand, and as this beer is made from the grains of the season with a wine yeast added to the early fermentation I think the name is pretty fitting!
This one was full on flavour and ever so complex, though a tad to hoppy for my taste but I wont hold that against it too much!
Our overall rating: 3.7/ 5.0
