Welcome Back to the Eternal Hoptimist.
As Sam was the one that discovered Bayonet brewing for us and it was at the crafty dogg beer festival, it only seemed right that he was the one to review this one.
So we are kicking off our week long showcase of the beers from Bayonet brewing, with their Crafty Dogg Collab!


1. Name : Detect and Strike
2. Brewery: Bayonet Brewing
3. Hop: Idaho 7, Sabro
4. Grain : Malted Barley
5. Aroma : Strong tropical notes, with an added hop & citrus.
6. Appearance : Set honey yellow with a closed white head when poured
7. Body : Medium bodied, good carbonation with reasonable head retention.
8. Taste : Upfront juicy tropical fruits which quickly turn to a bitter pine needle with a wash of citrus giving it a strong bitter finish.
Dietary requirements : Vegan Friendly
Wow, this was a belter, very bitter though but that didn’t take away from its moreish quality, again quite easy drinking considering it was 5.6%. the can says its ‘chuggable’ I cant help but agree!
After a couple of these the working dogs will certainly be deployed to take me home!
