Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists.
This isn’t brewed too far away from where I hail, so its not had too far to travel (if you ignore the fact it went to Leeds first!) Had a little issue with the can as the ring pull sheered and didn’t pop the can, luckily I didn’t need to resort to the item depicted below, but after a little macgyvering and making a rudimentary lathe, I was soon into its Beery centre!

- Name: Night Nav
- Brewery: Bayonet Brewing
- Hops : N/A
- Grain : N/A
- Aroma: A strong waft of coffee and malts upon opening the can
- Appearance: Very dark almost black with a dark brown haze at the edges and a classic mushroom coloured head when poured.
- Body: Medium to full bodied, perfect porter carbonation, with okay head retention.
- Taste: Roasted slightly smoked coffee beans with a shot of chocolate which reverts back to a smokey finish
Carbonation was spot on for a porter, not to high not to low, the flavours were full, and the smokiness was a nice bit of traditional in the newer style porter, again no alcoholic burn, very nice indeed!
Johns overall rating: 3.8/ 5.0
