Welcome Back to the Eternal Hoptimist.
Sam is finally putting his feet up and is taking a look at this Matcha IPA (that’s Green tea to plebs like me). we have done a Green Tea Beer on the blog before and it has a mixed review, lets see if North Brewing and Field Recordings can do a better job.

1. Name : Green Tomocdachi
2. Brewery: North Brewing Co X Field recordings
3. Hops: Idaho 7, Talus, & Citra
4. Aroma : Hoppy with a slight hint of Macha / Grass & freshly squeezed lime
5. Appearance : Opaque lemon cordial with a very tight white head when poured.
6. Body : Thin to medium bodied, good level of carbonation with an ok head retention.
7. Taste : Surprisingly fruity, not too bitter and quite dry upfront with a mouth-watering finish.
Another odd one, I went into this expecting quite a harsh bitter and herbal kick and what I got instead was a very mellow fruity green tea experience. It was very pleasant but I’m not sure it makes the most of the Macha in terms of flavour, but its very nice.
Our overall rating: 3.5/ 5.0
