Cloudwater – Weisse, Wheat Beer (5.2% ABV)

Welcome Back to the Eternal Hoptimists.

Last weekend we went across the west riding to Manchester to visit friend of the T.E.H Andy, to check out some of the brewery taps in the city centre for a future feature. Whilst we were there we drank a fair few beers and also took some home, so it only seemed right that we do a few reviews.

Andy decided to go for the Weisse beer, so let see what he thought of it!

1. Name :  Weisse Wheat Beer
2. Brewery: Cloudwater
3. Aroma : Strong scent of Wheat and summer fields
4. Appearance : A heady hazed golden wheat colour
5. Body : Medium to full bodied, decent carbonation and good head retention.
6. Taste :  Thin wheaty taste up front, which gained momentum with a hoppy undertone resulting in a thick astringent but not unpleasant bready finish.

Allergens : GLUTEN, WHEAT, BARLEY, OATS
Dietary: VEGAN FRIENDLY

I am a little new to Weisse beers. I cant say it blew me away, but I found the flavour profile interesting and it was not by any means unpleasant, but I think I will stick to my dank juicy IPA’s for the time being.

Our overall rating: 3.0/ 5.0
