In this review we take a look at a Belgian DIPA which is a Brewdog and Friends collaboration. The breweries in question are Dok Brewing Company from Ghent, Belgium and of course Brewdog from Ellon, Scotland.
This beer was originally scheduled to feature in our Halloween special last year. However the week leading up to it proved to be more of a trick than a treat for me as I was side lined with Covid. But you know what they say, the best things come to those who wait…..bring it on!

1. Name : Brewdok Belgian DIPA

3. Hops : Not specified.
4. Grain : Barley, Wheat, Yeast & Oats.
5. Aroma : Lovely, fragrant, slight tropical notes.
6. Appearance : Hazy straw colour with one finger dissipating white head.
7. Body : Very full bodied with little carbonation. Very smooth and drinks incredibly well.
8. Taste : Very pleasant moreish fragrant tropical flavours with a sweet candy edge & slight spicy finish.
Oh yes, this one was definitely worth the wait!
The aroma of the beer is just so pleasant, whilst it has nothing in particular that makes you go WOW it just smells incredibly nice. Taste wise the beer has tropical notes with a sweet candy edge moving towards a slight spicy finish. The spicy finish is not offensive by any means, by this I refer to the well-balanced use of fresh hops which adds something extra to proceedings. If I were to have one criticism it is that I did not get to much of a Belgian influence on the taste but let’s not let that put us off as this is a pretty fine beer!
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this beer and it is one that I hope will become more easily available in the future. Whilst I would not put it in the world class bracket it is thoroughly enjoyable and one that I would highly recommend
