Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists Spookoween 2023 special. Today Sam is teaming up with John to Co-Write this classic 80’s Knightmare! will they avoid all the pitfalls?… or will they just sidestep left?
- Name: Sidestep to the Left
- Brewery: Neon Raptor
- Hops: Citra, Chinook, Cryo & Sabro
- Aroma: Mellow Hop, with a bit of stoned fruit, and a hint of maple
- Appearance: Opaque milky yellow with a creamy white open head when poured
- Body: Medium bodied, good level of carbonation with ok head retention.
- Taste: Quite dank, strong stoned fruit flavours with a deep heavy hop, giving it quite a robust flavour profile, which morphed to an almost pastry like moreish aftertaste.
Unusual is certainly the word, much like the show it was certainly a case of stepping into the unknown. Even with the two of us paired up we were a bit like the chuckle brothers, going back and forth this one, much like we would be in the show!
It delivers well on flavour, and it is very moreish, however it does seem to pack quite a punch for a 5.5% so despite its ABV I don’t think either of us would session it. But it certainly one we would both have again.
