Northern Monk X Rivington X Vice Press, Patron Project with Thought Bubble – Ride Like Fire, DDH IPA (7.0% ABV)

Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists!

Last weekend, Sam and a group of his friends went to the Thought Bubble Comic Convention in Leeds/Harrogate. Where they stumbled upon this beauty, its a Limited Patrons Project DDH IPA which was brewed in conjunction to the festival.

Unfortunately its the last one of the Collab’s with Northern Monk and Thought bubble, but I have a funny feeling it may be a renewed series as it seems to have been a very popular one and there are a lot of artists out there!

This Particular Patron project is to showcase Vice Press, who create limited edition and officially licenced, posters, prints and collectables from some of the larger publishers like Disney/ Marvel and DC not to mention cult classic films such as Blade Runner and 2001 space odyssey to name a few.

As Sam and the rest of the gang are beer lovers, they all wanted to get in on the action so today we have an unusual five-way review with Sam and our four guests, so without any further ado let’s get supping!

  1. Name: Ride Like Fire
  2. Brewery: Northern Monk X Rivington Brewing Co X Vice Press
  3. Hops: YCH3030 CRYO, Cascade, Citra, Nelson Sauvin
  4. Aroma :  Grape & Grapefruit nose with a cheeky hop backing.
  5. Appearance : Opaque cloudy apple juice with a tight white head when poured.
  6. Body :  Medium bodied, great level of carbonation and decent head retention.
  7. Taste :  Starts off as a light fruity and quite winey before bringing forward the typical DDH hoppy flavours, becoming drier and ending with a strong bitter finish.

As this one was a special 5-way review and a thought-bubble special, as we have done in the past we have compiled the thoughts and scores of all 5 drinkers! take a look at what they thought!

So, using the power of maths I believe this gives this tipple and average score of…. 3.0/5.0
