Hello, and welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists,
The superhero genre leaves this old boy cold. Yes, I watched the early Superman and Batman movies, but the myriad of Marvel and DC stuff from the last fifteen years has passed me by. So, the quote on the can “Superhero landing she’s doing a superhero landing” means absolutely nothing to me!
What I lack in superhero knowledge I can make up for in stout knowledge and I do love Imperial Stouts.
The can suggests sharing it with your favourite sidekick, luckily Fred the dog doesn’t like beer (not even beer made for dogs) so all the more for me!

Strong intensely flavoured Imperial Stout of some potency. Its rich and for once the ‘salted caramel’ fits perfectly, there is all the flavour of toffee caramel but at the same time not excessively sweet. The mouthfeel is lovely and smooth with the lactose imparting the expected creaminess.
A very impressive sipping beer, one that seems decadent and not to be rushed. The strong flavours hide some of the beer’s complexity perhaps, but let’s not be picky this is a beer that delivers what is expected. At a whopping 13% it also demands some respect.
Peter’s overall rating: 4.1/ 5.0
